Two employees of the State Health Control Office of the Chisinau Public Health Centre of the National Agency for Public Health (ANSP) are being investigated by the NAC in a case of passive corruption. They are suspected of claiming and receiving financial means from economic agents to obtain sanitary permits.
According to the case materials, between March and August 2024, the ANSP inspectors allegedly created and implemented a criminal scheme to favour the obtaining of sanitary permits by economic agents. Thus, the civil servants would have systematically claimed and received undue monetary means, from 2,000 to 10,000 lei, to facilitate the obtaining of sanitary authorizations by economic agents. They would have formally organized controls, drawn up minutes of control without going to the scene, but also would not have reflected the violations detected during the control. Based on the completed documents, the economic agents obtained sanitary authorization for operation.
Today, the NAC officers raided the homes, cars and offices of the suspects, who are being investigated while at large, from where they collected several pieces of evidence. The investigations continue under the procedural leadership of the prosecutors from the Chisinau Municipal Prosecutor's Office.
We remind that any person shall be presumed innocent until a final and irrevocable decision of the court is pronounced.
