NAC Synthesis: searches carried out on a chief architect and two employees of the Dermato-Venereological Dispensary in the systemic corruption cases; assets worth about 1.5 million lei seized and a bank account of 25 thousand euros frozen

The National Anti-corruption Centre has reported several activities, carried out last week on the anti-corruption component. Thus, on Monday the officers raided the office of the chief architect of the Căuşeni district, investigated in a passive corruption case for systematic claim of illegal remuneration. On Thursday, two employees of the Municipal Dermatology-Venerelogical Dispensary in Chisinau were searched, being suspected of releasing personal medical records without the presence of the patient. At the same time, a man was sentenced to a criminal fine of 70 thousand lei, in a case of influence peddling, started by the NAC in August 2021. During the reference period, the criminal investigation officers started 7 criminal cases. 5 people, arrested in the cases initiated by the NAC, are placed in penitentiaries.

Also, the Criminal Assets Recovery Agency (CARA) of the NAC seized assets worth about 1.5 million lei, last week, based on the delegations of the General Directorate on Criminal Investigation (GDCI) of the NAC. Among them are 2 residential buildings and 2 plots of land for construction, seized in a case of passive corruption. Another 95 thousand lei, previously applied to a means of transport, were confirmed by court decision. At the same time, the Agency issued a freezing order on a bank account with about 25 thousand euros, the equivalent of 474 thousand lei.

In the field of corruption prevention, the Legislation Directorate completed and delivered to the authors 12 expert reports and an opinion last week. Also, 9 forensic expertises were completed. During the mentioned period, 5 anti-corruption trainings were organized for 326 people. The NAC notifies the completion of 4 operational analyses, the release of 197 integrity records, the reception of 48 calls to the National Anti-corruption Line and 1603 materials registered in the Centre’s Chancellery.
