The chief architect of the Căuşeni district, investigated by the NAC in a case of passive corruption for systematic claim of illegal remuneration

The chief architect of the Căușeni district is under criminal investigation by the NAC in a case of passive corruption. He is suspected of claiming and receiving money from several residents of the district for the issuance of permissive documents.

According to the administered materials, in the period May - July 2024, the chief architect of Căușeni r. allegedly claimed and received from the inhabitants of the district, undue monetary means, between 200 - 1500 lei, for the fulfillment/acceleration of the fulfillment of some actions in the exercise of the function, manifested by the release of permissive documents for demolition, construction, design, of real estate, located within the territory served.

This morning, the NAC officers and prosecutors carried out searches at the suspect's office. Objects and documents relevant to the case were taken from the scene. The official is being investigated while at liberty.

The criminal investigation continues under the procedural leadership of the prosecutors of the Chisinau Municipal Prosecutor's Office.

We remind that any person shall be presumed innocent until a final and irrevocable court decision is issued, and investigations in this case continue.
