The NAC has organized several training sessions for civil servants and students, at ATU Găgăuzia

The activities were organized at the request of the executive committee of ATU Găgăuzia, on the occasion of the events in the first decade of December – International Anticorruption Day and Human Rights Day.

The training of the civil servants was organized to ensure the execution of Action Plan for implementing National Integrity and Anticorruption Strategy for the years 2017 – 2020, attended by the leading public officials, responsible for the implementation of the mechanisms of institutional integrity at the level of public entities.

The training aimed at strenthening knowledge, developing necessary abilities to exercise efficiently public service and promoting integrity standards, as well as supporting and facilitating the efforts in implementation and fulfillment of anticorruption policies, at the level of public entities and improving the communication of the actors from anticorruption field: anticorruption authorities and public reporting entities.

The topics addressed focused on the mechanisms of strenthening the professional and intitutional integrity, responsibilities regarding the implementation and fulfillment of integrity and anticorruption policies, the internal and external institutional integrity control, the possibilities of notifying corruption acts, protection of integrity warnings, etc.

Two other trainings were intended for high school students from the „Nicolae Tretiacov” lyceum and Mihai Eminescu Romanian lyceum from Comrat. They were organized with the support of the Directorate General for Education of the ATU Găgăuzia.

The event aimed at raising the level of the legal culture of the high school students, promoting the active spirit of the young people in the field of corruption prevention and legal compliance.

The primary accents within the training related to the integrity of the student and the professional integrity, as they affect the corruption of the rights of each one, the individual legal responsibility to which they are liable, as well as the civic responsibility that we, all the members of the society, have in diminishing the phenomenon of corruption.

Also, the high school students were presented the Guide „Law in Students’ Understanding”, elaborated in the framework of the project „Legal Education – Cultivating Legal Compliance Among Younger Generation”, by the Center of Innovation and Policies of Moldova, the project in which the representatives of Anticorruption Education Directorate of the NAC take part as trainers. Several copies of the practical guide of judicial education for pre-university education was passed to the lyceum libraries.

Informative materials „Corruption in Children’s Understanding”, stickers, reflectors, office supplies with anticorruption slogans were distributed among the high school students. The materials were elaborated in the framework of the project „Fighting Corruption by Strengthening Sustainable Integrity in the Republic of Moldova”, implemented by the UNDP Moldova in the partnership with the National Anticorruption Center, with the financial support from the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The center will continue to develop awareness-raising activities intended for young people to contribute the promotion of the integrity standards, pro-active civil spirit and legal compliance and support the initiatives of the civil society in educating the younger generation.
