Official of the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning of the Chisinau City Hall, retained by NAC and anticorruption prosecutors

A senior specialist of the General Department of Architecture, Urban Planning and Land Relations of the Chisinau City Hall was arrested by NAC officers CNA anticorruption prosecutors on suspicion of corruption. He is in custody for 72 hours at NAC at the moment.

In fact, the specialist is presumed to would have claimed Euro 2,200 from a resident of the capital to expedite commissioning of a house. According to the informer, the official claimed to have influence on some employees of the State Construction Inspection and that he may determine the expedite of the procedure.

The case is being investigated by officers of NAC and Anticorruption Prosecutors Office. If found guilty, the official faces up to 10 years in prison with a fine of 6,000 to 8,000 units of conventional and deprivation of the right to hold certain public positions or to practice certain activities for a period of 7 to 10 years.
