NAC organizes the 9th National Anticorruption Conference Progress and Prospects in repressing

The 9th National Anticorruption Conference "Progress and perspectives in repressing corruption" will be carried out on December 9th 2013 within the precincts of the Palace of the Republic (Chisinau, 16 Maria Cebotari Street).
The event is organized by the National Anticorruption Centre with the support of EU-funded projects, including “EU MissionPolicy Advicefor Moldova” (EUHLPAM), implemented by the United Nations Development Programme in Moldova, and “Supporting the Government of Moldova in the area of corruption, reform the Interior Ministry, including the police and the protection of personal data” (MIAPAC), implemented by the German Agency for International Cooperation ( GIZ ) and audit and consultingcompany KPMG from Romania.
The Conference is carrying out on the occasion of the International Day against corruption established by UN Resolution of 9 December 2003, which demonstrates Moldova’s commitment to promote an intolerant attitude towards corruption and enhancing practices in fight this phenomenon.
The main objective is to assess anti-corruption efforts undertaken by the authorities and civil society for the last year, strengthening anti-corruption monitoring practices and identifying strategic priorities for subsequent periods.
The reports will be focused on analysis of the results of the reforms launched by the competent institutions to discover, investigate and prosecute corruption on issues related to foreign assistance and its role in achieving development priorities of the Republic of Moldova as a state of law and democracy.
High level officials, experts, representatives of central and local government, international organizations, business, civil society and mass-media are invited to the conference. They will have to possibility to be active by addressing questions and commenting on issues of corruption.
Working language is Romanian, translation to /from English being provided.
