A former director of the “Association for the Management of Green Spaces”, investigated by the NAC for abuse of office, resulting in considerable damages

Officers of the National Anti-corruption Centre (NAC) and prosecutors of the municipality of Chisinau are conducting searches today in the framework of a criminal case, in which a former leader of the “Association for the Management of Green Spaces” is targeted. He is suspected of having caused considerable damages to the municipal enterprise’s budget during the period of exercising his managerial position, abusing his official position.

The criminal investigation in this case was initiated by the criminal investigation body of the NAC, based on a reasonable suspicion regarding the commission of the offense provided for in art. 327 para. (1) of the Criminal Code. According to the materials administered in the criminal trial, during the period 2023 - April 2025, the official, acting in a predetermined manner with other public figures within the managed subdivision and representatives of economic operators, out of material interest and in the interest of third parties, would have signed fictitious contracts for the technical service of some multifunctional equipment, contrary to the manufacturer's operator's manuals. Although the mentioned equipment would not have been put into operation, they were subjected to technical service work, and fictitious documents were drawn up.

Currently, the National Anti-corruption Centre is carrying out actions at several addresses in the capital, under the procedural leadership of the Chisinau Municipal Prosecutor's Office, to establish all the circumstances of the commission of the crime, identify the persons involved in the mentioned illegal actions and hold them criminally liable.

We remind that any person shall be presumed innocent until a final and irrevocable court decision is rendered, and the investigations in this case continue.
