The Head of the Internal Customs Post in Causeni was detained for 72 hours by the National Anticorruption Center and prosecutors for passive corruption

The National Anti-corruption Centre (NAC) and the prosecutors of the municipality of Balti have announced the detention for 72 hours of the Head of the Internal Customs Post in Causeni in the case in which the Head of the Central Customs Office and a customs broker were detained on May 21. Currently, all 3 persons are in the custody of the NAC and are being investigated for passive corruption committed under aggravating circumstances.

We note that, during the criminal investigation carried out by the National Anti-corruption Centre and prosecutors throughout yesterday, several mobile phones were seized from the suspects, and the total amount of financial means detected, in different currencies, is approximately 1.1 million lei.

The criminal investigation continues.
