About 20 students of the Moldova State University (MSU), members of the Association of Law Students (ASD) of Moldova, participated in a study visit to the National Anti-corruption Centre (NAC). The purpose of the event was to familiarize with the Centre’s anti-corruption activities.

Present at the event, the deputy director of NAC, Alexandru Savca, greeted the students, encouraging them to make efforts during their years of study to become qualified lawyers: "I encourage you to study well, to be honest and courageous in everything you do. You are the next generation of lawyers, and some of you could be our future colleagues, with whom we will work to deliver justice. You have the opportunity to understand the complexity of the corruption phenomenon and learn about the mechanisms through which you can contribute to a more transparent and fair society."

The head of the General Directorate on Corruption Prevention, Lidia Chireoglo, addressed the young people with a message, emphasizing the importance of collaboration with the academic environment in promoting the values of integrity and professional ethics among young people, considering education an essential element in the prevention of corruption. The guests also interacted with anti-corruption volunteers, who have been promoting anti-corruption messages for several years. She spoke to them about the importance of reporting acts of corruption, about the need to involve the young generation in promoting a corruption-free environment, but also about the possibility of becoming an anti-corruption volunteer of the NAC.

The students were given a tour of the institution and visited several subdivisions of the NAC, including the Centre’s Guard Unit, where the National Anti-corruption Hotline is located, to which information about corruption cases is communicated.

The information visits of different groups of pupils and students are part of the NAC activities aimed at promoting the anti-corruption culture among young people.
