NAC 36 000 euros, within a case of the illegal financing of a political formation

Another 36 000 euros were seized by the NAC officers in a case of illegal financing of a political formation by an organized group. The financial means, equivalent to about 700 000 lei, were taken over by NAC, having previously been detected by employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in a means of transport together with several boxes with leaflets with electoral content. The case would have a connection with one of the criminal cases under examination by the anti-corruption officers, and the financial means, the origin of which remains to be established, were to be used for the remuneration of party members.

We remind that, on 07.10.2024, a person was detained by the NAC and the Chisinau municipal prosecutors, following searches carried out in Orhei in the Jora de Jos locality. The actions took place within a case of illegal financing of a political formation by an organized group, and about 1 million lei was seized from the scene.
