Searches in a file of active, passive corruption and smuggling, in which a construction company, officials of the capital City Hall, employees of INST and a lawyer are targeted

Several searches were carried out today by the NAC officers and Balti municipal prosecutors in a case of passive and active corruption and currency smuggling, in which officials of the Chisinau Municipal City Hall, a construction company, employees of the National Inspection of Technical Supervision (INST) and a lawyer are involved.

More precisely, the director of a construction company is being investigated for offering illegal remuneration to officials of the Chisinau City Hall and officials from INST and the Public Services Agency in exchange for obtaining permits or favourable decisions for the construction of buildings in the capital and in the suburbs this one.

According to the materials of the case, it was established that the director of the economic agent in question had multiple discussions and meetings with economic agents and with persons in charge of issuing permits and verifying construction works within the Chisinau City Hall, during which he agreed on the registration of final acceptance documents for several buildings in the municipality. Also, in another file, several episodes of currency smuggling in particularly large proportions, committed by the company's director, are being investigated.

Today, the NAC officers, under the procedural leadership of the Balti Municipal Prosecutor's Office, carried out criminal investigation actions at the headquarters of three economic agents, at the offices, homes and means of transport of several persons targeted in the file, from where they picked up mobile phones, bearers of information and documents relevant to the case.
