1000 euros for a driver's license. A resident of Balti municipality, investigated by NAC

The NAC officers conducted searches in Balti municipality in a case of influence peddling. A man allegedly promised a candidate to help him obtain a category B driver's license in exchange for a sum of money.

According to the whistleblower, the suspect allegedly claimed that he has influence over the civil servants in the Balti Office of Registration of Transport Means and Driver’s Qualification and that he can induce them to favor the candidate for the practical test to obtain the driver's license. For his services, he would have claimed and received 1000 euros, the money transmitted under the control of the NAC, in the framework of the procedural actions carried out by the officers of General Territorial Directorate North.

Later, the man was detained for 72 hours. Currently, the NAC is carrying out actions, to establish and document all the people involved in the mentioned illegal actions and bring them to liability. The criminal investigation is carried out under the procedural leadership of the Prosecutor's Office of the municipality of Balti.
