A former sales operator of a Chisinau travel agency, investigated by NAC. He allegedly falsified documents and embezzled 433 500 lei from the company

A person from Chisinau is being investigated by the officers of the National Anti-corruption Centre in a case of embezzlement of the budget of a tourism agency under aggravating circumstances and falsification of documents.

According to the investigated facts, the person, during the period when he was employed as a sales operator at a travel agency in Chisinau, allegedly falsified several bank statements related to the confirmation of payments received from individuals and legal entities. Later, the travel agency allegedly made various payments without knowing that the money paid by the tourists did not actually reach the company's account, having been appropriated by the suspect. Thus, the travel agency would have been embezzled from financial means in the amount of 433 500 lei.

Following the searches carried out in the morning of 23.08.2024, under the direction of the Chisinau Municipal Prosecutor's Office, documents relevant to the criminal case were seized at the home and means of transport of the suspect. The person is to be investigated in a state of freedom.
