A man from Ștefan Vodă, investigated by NAC for influence peddling. He allegedly received an advance payment of 1,100 euros for A and B driver's license

A man from Ștefan Vodă is investigated by the NAC officers in a case of influence peddling. He is suspected of claiming and receiving illegal financial means for organizing the perfecting of a car license.

According to the case materials, the suspect allegedly demanded 1,600 euros from a candidate, claiming that he would have influence on the members of the examination committee within the Department of Registration of Means of Transport and Driver Qualification (DÎMT and CCA) of Public Services Agency. Later, he would have accepted an advance payment of 1100 euros from the requested amount in order to induce the PSA employees to favour the whistleblower in the theoretical and practical exams for obtaining the category A and B driver's license.

Currently, the NAC officers are carrying out actions to establish and document all the people involved and bring them to criminal liability, under the procedural leadership of the Chisinau Municipal Prosecutor's Office. In this regard, searches were carried out at the home and in the suspect's car, after which documents relevant to the criminal case were seized. The man is being investigated while at liberty.
