An employee of the Leova District Hospital, investigated for systematically claiming illegal remuneration. About 6,500 euros and 27,000 lei were seized following the searches carried out by NAC

The NAC officers and prosecutors carried out searches at an employee of the Leova District Hospital in a case of systemic corruption. The suspect would have collected illicit funds from the patients, without passing them through the institution's cashier.

According to the accumulated evidence, the suspect, intentionally using his work situation and functional attributions, acting out of material interest, would have systematically charged different amounts of money from patients for his services, without registering them in the institution's cash register. Thus, considerable damage was caused to the IMSP budget of the Leova District Hospital. It should be noted that several cases of claim and receipt of money were fixed.

During the searches, carried out at the home and office of the suspect, approximately 6,500 euros and 27,000 lei were seized, the origin of which is to be established, as well as registers and information carriers. The actions take place under the procedural leadership of the prosecutors from the Cahul Municipal Prosecutor's Office, and the medical worker is investigated in a state of freedom.
