The customs officer and his accomplice, detained in the case of a bribe of 10 thousand euros, but also the man detained in the bribery case of over 1 million lei - arrested for 30 days

The magistrates of the Bălți municipal court today issued preventive arrest warrants for 30 days on behalf of the customs officer from the Sculeni customs post and his accomplice, detained by the NAC and prosecutors in a corruption case. The official, but also his accomplice, are targeted in a case of bribery in the amount of more than 10,000 euros, allegedly from a parcel carrier to ensure the unimpeded passage of a batch of contraband goods through the said customs post.

Also, today, the judges at the Chisinau Court, Ciocana headquarters, examined the prosecutors' approach regarding the preventive arrest for 30 days of the man, detained by the NAC officers in the bribery case of over 1,000,000 lei. The person is accused of influence peddling and is being investigated for claiming 35 thousand euros in one case and 25,000 euros in another case against the promise to settle a tax evasion case and facilitate the obtaining of permissive documents for a plot of land in the capital.

Magistrates' decisions can be appealed within the term provided by law.
