Searches at the director of the Psychiatric Hospital in Balti. The case started by the NAC on the embezzlement of the institution's budget

The NAC officers are carrying out several searches targeting the interim director of the Psychiatric Hospital in Balti, a legal consultant of the institution and the representative of a legal entity in a criminal case of embezzlement of the institution's budget.

According to the investigated facts, during the year 2023, the interim director of the medical institution allegedly increased unjustifiably some expenses so that from the difference obtained, several articles of furniture would have been made and installed at his home.

Following the execution of the criminal prosecution actions in the morning of 04/30/2024, under the direction of the Chisinau Municipal Prosecutor's Office, several items of furniture made by the same company that allegedly produced and installed the furniture in the premises of the Psychiatric Hospital of Balti. Through these facts, the institution's budget was embezzled by about 100 thousand lei.

All the persons concerned are to be investigated in a state of freedom, to be heard in order to elucidate all the circumstances.
