NAC and the Ministry of Health have launched the first edition of the competition "Health Integrity Promoter"

The National Anticorruption Center (NAC) jointly with the Ministry of Health have launched the first edition of the " Health Integrity Promoter " competition to which, starting today, public medical and sanitary institutions in the country can apply.

Through this competition, the aim is to promote and strengthen institutional and professional integrity within public medical institutions. The competition is held in partnership with the National Medical Insurance Company, the Swiss Red Cross, the "HOMECARE" and "CASMED" public associations, within the "Equity in Health Through Social Responsibility" project, funded by the Swiss Government.

To participate in the contest, medical institutions shall submit the package of documents regarding the implementation of integrity measures to the Ministry of Health and the NAC by December 19. Integrity measures include ensuring compliance with the rules of the ethical code of medical workers and pharmacists, as well as the mechanism for blowing the whistle and non-admission of manifestations of corruption. A judging panel will analyze the self-assessment reports of compliance with the integrity standards of the applicants and, based on the results of the evaluation of the dossiers, will designate the winners of the "Health Integrity Promoter" award. The nominated medical institutions will receive the award at a gala organized on this occasion.

As part of this project, last year, the "Integrity for Health" information and raising-awareness campaign was launched, with employees of public medical institutions being trained on institutional and professional integrity measures.
