A man from Chisinau was reported to the NAC for the fact that he allegedly promised to intervene with public figures from the Police and influence them to stop investigating the materials under management on a case of theft. He allegedly demanded 5,000 euros from the whistleblower in exchange for influencing the decision in the mentioned case.

Based on the whistleblowing, a criminal investigation was initiated for influence peddling. On December 26, the transfer of cash in the amount of 3,000 euros was carried out under the control of the Territorial Directorate "Center" of the NAC and the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office. The suspect was caught flagrante delicto, and he is currently in the criminal detention center for 72 hours.

The criminal investigation in this case is ongoing to establish all the circumstances and to identify the circle of people involved.
